Greek Man Shot at Home by Robbers in 'Critical Condition'


A 52-year-old businessman is in a critical condition at an Athens hospital after he was shot twice in the back by robbers at his home in a northern Athenian suburb early on Monday.
Police say two robbers broke into the the man’s house at Kifisia just after 5 a.m., awoke him and threatened him with a gun.
When he resisted, he was shot twice in the back. His wife and two children, also in the house at the time of the attack, were unharmed.
The 52-year-old is to undergo an operation at the capital’s G. Gennimata hospital where doctors said he was in a critical condition.
Last week, an 88-year-old man fired at two robbers who broke into his house in Glyfada, south of Athens.
