Greek Atheists Hold Meat Eating Feast on Holy Friday

The Atheist Union of Greece held meat eating feasts in several cities across Greece on Holy Friday in order to go against the tide of Easter season.
The events organized are called “Supper in the Open” in order to make fun of the Last Supper, which in Greece is called “The Secret Supper”. It is an annual event atheists hold each year.
The Atheists Union of Greece issued a statement saying:
“It’s the time of spring holidays and the Atheists Union invites you to this year’s Supper in the Open. It is a beautiful tradition in our country that does not even require the wasting of State funds, the deterioration in the state’s prestige and an insult to the citizens’ intelligence. We are only abstaining from hypocritical mourning and supposed fasting but not from logic.
“Meat eaters, exclusive vegetarians and all inbetween, you are all welcome, you can order according to your preferences and means.
Come and let’s get to know each other!
On Friday (also known as “Holy”) 06-04-2018 at 8 pm.”
According to the atheists website, the invitation was good for specific restaurants and taverns in Athens, Thessaloniki,  in front of AT. White Tower, Nicosia, Limassol, Patras, Larissa, Chania, Rethymno, Heraklion, Sitia, Rhodes, Corfu, Serres, Katerini and Xanthi.
