Turkey Slams Greece over Coup Suspect's Release

Turkey has accused Greece of protecting those who sought to overthrow the Turkish government in July 2016’s coup attempt.
A Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement on Friday said Thursday’s court decision in Athens to release one of the eight former Turkish servicemen seeking asylum showed Greece was “a country which protects the coup plotters”.
The Council of State — Greece’s highest administrative court — ruled on Thursday that the former officer — Suleyman Ozkaynakci — should be freed from detention. This decision is likely to be replicated for the seven remaining detainees, who are still sought by Ankara.
However, Ozkaynakci is barred from leaving the Greece and will stay at a secret location amid tight security. His asylum application is ongoing.

Recently, Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis predicted the Turkish nationals would be released in May.
The eight have also reached the maximum detention of 18 months prior to a trial.
