Breathtaking Aerial Views of Corfu, the "Lady of the Ionian" (video)

The UP DRONES team recorded unique aerial views of Corfu during Easter, when the island, the “Lady of the Ionian”, was at its most majestic in celebration.
The architectural beauty of Corfu is due to its Venetian heritage, with the castles, the mansions and the “Liston”. In the Venetian dialect, lista means a “wide and straight promenade”, as is the Lista of Venice, in Saint Mark’s Square.
At the same time, “lista” means the “wooden plaque” on which lists were written, and although when the Liston was constructed, the Venetian Republic was long gone, many Venetian words and expressions survived in the dialect of the Corfu residents.
So the famous Liston of Corfu owes its name to both explanations, as there was a list of the names of the nobles, the libro d’ oro, who had the exclusive right to enjoy their walk on the particular promenade.
