AEK beat AS Monaco 100-94 at the final of 2017-18 FIBA Champions League on Sunday night winning the 3rd European title in the club’s history.
The European title came 50 years after the team had won its first euro trophy.
AEK playing on home court, led from the first minute to the last, yet they faced a nervy final minute before the celebrations got under way at the OAKA Olympic Indoor Hall.
The victory sent thousands of its fans cheering and singing on the streets.
The match was tough and fast from the beginning, but AEK had Mike Greene on a great day with 19 points.
Captain Dusan Sakota also left his mark especially in the fourth quarter, scoring critical two-pointers and three-pointers, while Kevin Punter made a great performance and scored 16 points.
