Prince of Monaco Gets Earplugs to Withstand Noise from Delirious AEK Fans

Prince Albert of Monaco asked for earplugs to withstand the noise made by the AEK faithful during his team’s defeat at the final of 2017-18 FIBA Champions League on Sunday night in Athens.

The game was only into its second minute when Prince Albert was seen asking one of his aides to give him a pair of earplugs as the enthusiastic Athenians were bringing the roof down at the Olympic Sports Hall.

He watched the rest of the game insulated from the noise, as AEK triumphed 100-94 over Monaco on the 50-year anniversary of the Greek side’s victory at the 1968 Cup Winners Cup.

The monarch was also spotted taking videos and photos of the stands before he sportingly congratulated the winners at the end of a memorable night for AEK and Greek basketball.
