Police are investigating the gruesome murder of a 64-year-old woman by one of her sons in her apartment in Nea Smyrni, Athens.
The body was discovered on Thursday evening after police were alerted by neighbors complaining of a foul smell emanating from the apartment.
They discovered the body of the woman placed on a chair and her 38-year-old son sitting next to it.
“Its me who killed her,” the man said, according to police sources.
According to the same sources, the man said that he killed his mother three days earlier, and kept the body sat on a chair ever since.
The woman apparently died of stub wounds to her neck.
