Hotel Rooms on Popular Greek Islands Booked Through 2018 Season

The hotel rooms available for tourists to book for their 2018 Greek island dream vacation are filling up fast.
On the smaller, more popular islands in Greece, hotels are experiencing a room shortage this summer. If tourists want to get a good deal and be sure of availability on their 2019 summer vacation in Greece next year, particularly if visiting the Cyclades or Ionian Islands, now is the time to book..
“In the Cyclades, especially on small islands with a few beds, you cannot even find anything in July, or you will find something that is particularly expensive,” says the President of the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation, Grigoris Tasios.
Part of the problem is that although tourism is trending upwards in Greece and is hitting historic highs, only 25,000 beds were added in the country for the 2018 tourism season.
Just this past April, while speaking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura estimated that for the 2018 tourist season Greece is expecting an additional 2 million visitors from previous years record highs.
The solution for avoiding the stress of arriving on a Greek island and either not finding a room to book within your budget, or not being able to book for the desired amount of days for your stay, is to always book in advance. Tourism in Greece is only expected to rise in the future, and many of the hotels on the smaller islands simply cannot keep up with the demands of tourism.
