Greek Soldier Arrested After Shooting Incident on Crete

A Greek paratrooper has been arrested after firing his weapon in the air at a military base on Crete.
According to media reports, the soldier of the 1st Parachute Squadron in Chania, began firing the gun in the air before trying to escape by jumping in a car.
He was apprehended by security officers, who placed him under arrest. There was no immediate explanation for the incident, and no reports of any injuries.
Monday’s incident, which took place in full view of the soldier’s colleagues, is now being investigated by the authorities.
