Greece's Junior Government Partner Threatens to Block 'Macedonia' Deal

The Greek defense minister and leader of the Independent Greeks Panos Kammenos has criticized the ‘Macedonia’ agreement and pledged to obstruct its approval on Tuesday.
Kammenos, a nationalist politician and head of the junior partner in the SYRIZA-led government, said that the deal struck last month between Greece and FYROM is “bad”.
“For me, the deal is bad. I don’t accept it and will try to block it,” he said.
Speaking at a news conference in Athens, he threatened to block the deal if it is not approved by the Greek people either through a referendum or elections.
“As far as Greece is concerned I will make sure that the deal will not be ratified without the approval of the Greek people,” Kammenos said.
He underlined that the agreement is not binding until its ratification in parliament. All the other conditions of the agreement are conditions that Skopje must meet, he added.
