Greek Actors and Migrants Stage Consciousness-Raising Plays in Shop Windows

Greek actors and migrants from different countries presented a theater play from inside shop windows in the Piraeus Port area on Thursday, aiming to raise awareness of the continuing refugee, migrant issue.
Organized by the Municipal Theater of Piraeus, in collaboration with the Open School for Immigrants in Piraeus and the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce, the event “Too-Human” had ten different shop windows become stages hosting refugees and migrants of different cultures.
The subjects dealt with were: motherhood, tradition, fear, friendship, love, life, trust and fanaticism, and reminded the audience of those moments in which the word “too” doesn’t describe quantity, but universality, according to the organizers.
“With this action we aim to show that the habits of Greeks and people of different nationalities are common, but also that we are a united society in which we must respect each other and move along,” Nikos Manesiotis, Chairman of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce, told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (AMNA).
