More Details Emerge from Fatal Greek Island Boat Tragedy

More information has emerged about Saturday’s fatal boating accident in Paxoi island which claimed the life of a British teenager on holiday with his family.
According to a report in the U.K.’s Daily Mail newspaper, the 15-year-old was part of a U.S.-resident British family of five which had been sailing in a rented speedboat to the port of Gaios when the craft encountered heavy waves.
The boy fell overboard and was struck by the boat’s propeller. Despite being sped to shore, he was found to be already dead.
According to the Mail, the father of the family was arrested by Greek police, but later released as an investigation into the incident continues.
The story was first covered by Greek Reporter, which confirmed news of the tragedy with the mayor of the island, Spyros Vlahopoulos, who has offered his condolences to the family.
