Train Hits Warehouse Wall in Greece, Two Injured

A local suburban train going from Lianokladi to Lamia in central Greece derailed on Friday morning and hit a wall of a TrainOSE warehouse next to the station, injuring two people aboard.
The train hit the warehouse just as it was leaving the Lianokladi station for Lamia. It derailed to another rail and changed direction, leading to the wall of the warehouse.
Since it was 6:00 am, there were very few passengers on the train and there were no injured other than a 48-year-old woman who is a high-ranking employee of TrainOSE and another passenger.
The firefighters had to cut off the protective railings in order to get the two injured passengers out of the train. Both were transferred to the Lamia Hospital.
The Lianokladi-Lamia-Stylida route has been restored and operates as usual.
