Greece paralyzed by strikes!

The whole country and especially Athens, is strucked by strikes. Pireaus Port, faces numerous serious problems beacause of the PAME memebers, who make sailing difficult and even impossible.  In the morning, each and every ship managed to sail, however the demonstrators took by storm the ship “APOLLON HELLAS”, coming from Aigina. Furthermore, the itinerary of the ship “Nisos Xios”, which would depart in 12:30 p.m, was cancelled. The PAME members are still in the Port, while the ships lifted their launchers in order to avoid the seizure.  Despite the fact that the strike is considered illegal, the sailors do not give ground.
Parallel, the city centre is paralyzed because of the rumpus in response to the pension reforms by the government.   Erewhile, the police forces used tear gases in order to control the strikers.The whole city centre is closed as umpteen demonstrators are in  front of the Greek Parliament. As, every public sector takes part in today’s nationwide strike, the public means  of transport are going to operate specific hours. At the same time, the majority of the strikers is in front of the Parliament  with banners such as “thieves, thieves”or “Burn the Parliament”,  while the police forces try to prevent them from getting any closer to the Parliament. The demostration ended up as a conflict between the strikers and the police forces, with six apprehensions.At least three people were slightly hurt in brief, scattered clashes in Athens, during which some windows were smashed and garbage bins set ablaze.
