Many citizens and tourists from the vicinity of Athens have been evacuated over the 45 ongoing fires in the region, world media reported. There are suspicions that the fires are intentional. They have spread very quickly because of strong wind. Seven fire burn near Athens. Fire and dense smoke twisted over the city. The situation worsened because of strong wind speeds of 65 km / h which guides the flames to the city. Fire Service reported that 150 firefighters are involved in the extinguishing activities as well as 32 machines, six aircraft, 4 helicopters.
