Honeymooner Paralyzed in Corfu

New bride Carrie-Anne Freeland plunged more than 30ft from a hotel balcony two days before the end of her honeymoon in Corfu.  The honeymoon had been a surprise gift from wedding guests stated the Telegraph newspaper. The 27 year old woman was left paralysed in a Greek hospital after breaking her spine in three places after the incident over the weekend. She is believed to have lost her footing and slipped from her hotel balcony after returning from a romantic meal with husband Michael Dudbridge 29.
Last Saturday’s incident came two days before their dream holiday was due to end. It is said that they had just returned to their room from a “romantic meal” when the woman went out to get some fresh air. After a moment the man heard a noise and then he saw her lying on the grass 30 feet below.
Friends of the couple are now trying to raise money to pay for the cost of flying the woman home in an air ambulance plane, complete with stabilisers, for treatment in a British hospital. Doctors in Corfu will conduct further tests this week to establish how serious the paralyses is and when she could be flown home.
