The Special Olympics’ torch which will be held in Athens in 2011, was received today. It was transferred to the President of the Greek Republic Karolos Papoulias from the Chair of the Special Olympic Hellas Joanna Despotopoulous. They were accompanied by Deputy Minister of Education Aidoni. Papoulias who had already signed up as a volunteer for these Olympic games, congratulated Mrs. Despotopoulous’s efforts who in turn, informed him that they have already enrolled 14,500 volunteers. Their goal is to reach 19,000 volunteers.
