International Students Design Melina Mercouri Inspired Calendar!

Students from around the world joined togethor to create a very colorful calendar for 2011.  The calendar is full of joy and optimism and its ideas are taken from the diary of the “Friends of Melina Mercouri Foundation”. Students from various countries participated including Egypt, Bulgaria, Greece, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Iran, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Croatia, Cyprus, Belarus, Lebanon, Malta, Hungary, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Turkey, the Czech Republic and Chile.  The participants drew pictures of children, flowers, and the planet.
“Children, Flowers of the Planet Earth” was the theme chosen by the Foundation to illuminate the calendar.  The calendar will include 70 paintings drawn by students aged 5 to 15.  The paintings came from the International Children’s Painting Competition.  The competition was in support with the Thessaloniki International Fair SA, Helexpo SA, and Friends of Melina Mercouri Foundation.
The Friends of Melina Mercouri Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1995 that portrays the attributes of  Melina Mercouri.
