The village Mouzakaioi located in Ioannina has been severly affected due to extreme weather conditions. Severe rain has wreaked havoc in the western region of Greece for the last three days. Landslides and floods have plagued the village. The local cultural centre and three warehouses were washed away by the flooding. Intermittent rains devastated the ground and numerous houses collapsed.
Fifteen houses have already been evacuated. Two PPC electricity pylons broke down by strong winds resulting in many black-outs. Emergency workers, the mayor and volunteers are trying to alleviate the situation.
