The Greek Socialist party residing in government PASOK- though seeing a drop in support – continues to maintain a wide margin over opposition forces, according to a public opinion poll by the MBR company on behalf of the TV station Mega. According to the poll, PASOK is supported by 26.7% (compared with June’s 28.1%), while the Nea Democratia party has 22.6% backing it (compared with 20.1%).Trailing behind is the Greek Communist Party with 8.4%. Papandreou is preferred concerning the Prime Minister position with 33%, compared with a 24.7% backing for Samaras, leader of the Nea Democratic party.
