Greek Government Satisfied with Brussels Negotiations

The Greek government appears to be satisfied after negotiations that took place in Brussels concerning the Permanent Economic Policy Program. The Summit voted yes in order to amend the related text in the Treaty of Lisbon. However, there is a controversy about the details.
According to some diplomats, there are going to be strict regulations in order to join the support program, as asked by many countries. The Greek government’s main aim now is to include a special referrence to Greece in the Conclusions of the Summit.
Before the beginning of the session, Prime Minister George Papandreou discussed with German Chancellor Angela Merkel for a few moments. According to the Greek Premier, the European Union has to prove to the countries that everything possible will be done in order to stabilize their economy. Finally, Papandreou underlined that the support program will not be implemented in the right way, unless the Eurozone cooperates with the countries.
