Greece Considers Floating Jails to Crackdown Illegal Immigrants

Greek officials say they are considering the use of floating prisons to detain asylum seekers.  This is the latest measure being considered in a crackdown on illegal immigration.
Public Order Minister Christos Papoutsis said Wednesday that floating prisons are being considered as part of tougher measures.  Tougher measures are likely to include building a fence on part of the Greek-Turkish border and using old army facilities as detention centres.
