Eurovision 2011: ERT Announced Maximum of 6 Acts

Clarifications for the 2011 Greek national final were given by the Greek national broadcaster, after the constant updates and self confirmations by artists. ERT announced that there will be a maximum of 6 acts in the national final which is set for the end of February. So far, there are 7 acts in the running for the Greek national selection. This means that one of the following artists will be out:
Yannis Savidakis
Valanto Trifonos
Antigoni Psichrami
Trimitonio
Kokkina Halia
Loukas Yorkas
Theocharis Ioannides
It also became known that the name of Panayiotis Petrakis although tipped by some, was a leak given by the artist himself. Although the author of the TV series in which he stars, immediately called off all rumors not allowing the actor even to think about Eurovision. It also became known that Universal record label denied any participation this year, which means Eleni Foureira and Yorgos Sampanis will not enter for sure.
The name of Dimitris Kontopoulos (2009 Greek entry composer and multiple NF participant – as an author) was also circulating across the web with claims that he will compose for either Antigoni Psichrami or Theocharis Ioannides. The oikotimes.com team learned through secure sources that he will not submit any song for any of the 2011 Greek NF artists, although some of us might want it!
The Greek national broadcaster revealed that the official announcement is expected by the end of next week.
