Greek & Israeli Ministers of Foreign Affairs Strengthen Relations

Prime Minister George Papandreou had a tele-conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today.
The two leaders talked about the next steps in the process for the strengthening of bilateral relations.  Efforts began at a fast pace last summer.  It was agreed to create a Joint Ministerial Council of Cooperation under their leadership and with the participation of ministers from both countries, aiming at deepening their cooperation in certain areas.
The first meeting of this new transnational institution is planned to take place within the next two months.  The two premiers tasked the respective Ministers of Foreign Affairs Dimitris Droutsas and Avigdor Lieberman to plan accordingly.  Lieberman travels to Athens tomorrow.
