New Greek Expatriate Military Regulations

Greek Minister of National Defense Evangelos Venizelos, signed several resolutions to resolve problems of military service laws implications.  The concerns include draft dodgers, deserters, conscientious objectors, expatriates, servicemen of more than 35 years of age, hospital in-patients and all registered for a higher education degree.
More specifically, for Greek expatriates:
The financial penalty for draft dodgers is 6,000 euros (1,000 euros for reservists) and for deserters, 1,000 euros for every month of desertion, until the amount reaches 6,000 euros. . New procedures are determined to face malfunctions caused during the application of the military service laws for specific categories (expatriates and servicemen of more than 35 year of age). Issues and malfunctions concerning the military deferment of those registered to follow a higher education degree, have been resolved.
