Theo Angelopoulos, the poet of images returned to Cyprus. He returned to the island of Aphrodite to collect information about his new film. Apart from Cyprus, the successful director went to Greece as well.
The new film, titled “The Other Sea” has a direct relationship with Greece’s 2010 climate, regarding its huge economic crisis. The storyline follows a group of young actors, in cooperation with the striking sector of Piraeus, who are trying to raise Bertolt’s Brecht’s “Threepenny Opera”. Their dream is to find homes for shipwrecked, young actors and workers.
The production of the new film will be in Greek, German, French and Italian. A documentary film about migration in Greece will be presented before the film.
