Center of Research and Development of Black Sea may Close

Large organizations of the Greek Diaspora, located in countries of the former USSR, express concern about the closing of the Greek Cultural Center of Research and Development of the Black Sea, located in Thessaloniki. The Federations of the Greek communities of Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, as well as students and individuals, from the former USSR countries sent a letter to the Greek PM, George Papandreou.  They asked for his intervention to keep the Center open. The Center, which was founded in 1996, was exclusively financed by the Prefecture of Thessaloniki. Today it lacks any financing.
