German Aircraft Transfers Greeks & Cypriots of Libya Back to Crete

Eight Greek and eleven Cypriot citizens were picked up by a C-160 aircraft by the German airforce. The mission of repatriation of the Greeks and Cypriots, who wished to return to their country, was coordinated by the German government and the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Two C-160 aircrafts of the German airforce took off from Souda airbase, Crete and in the evening one of them took off from Nafoora airport of Libya. The eight Greek and eleven Cypriot citizens were working in a construction firm in Libya. The Greek Embassy in Tripoli, which is still open, and the central service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that they will provide any assistance to Greeks who still live in Libya.
