Panagiotis Psomiadis Faces Court Again

The Head of the District of Central Macedonia, Panagiotis Psomiadis, is in court facing charges of failing his duties.
According to the charges brought by a high-ranking employee in the District of Central Macedonia, Mr. Psomiadis is accused of decreasing the fine imposed on an owner of a gas station who was selling diluted gas.
The outcome of the first trial was a one-year sentence with probation for Mr. Psomiadis, but he appealed and the new trial was postponed. According to sources, if he is now sentenced they will again appeal to the Surpreme Court. According to lawyers, he will not have the right to perform his duties and forfeit the right to run in next election.
