New Homeless Shelter Created in Athens

Athens will host a new shelter open for all homeless people regardless of criteria such as age, gender and nationality. The aim of this initiative, taken and financed by the Employment and Social Security Ministry and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, is for the immediate needs of the homeless. The shelter, located near the Larissis Station, will operate later in this year and will provide beds, food, clothing and hygiene care to all people in need, supplied with a special card.
The shelter will be able to house approximately 450 people per day and will function from noon to 7:00 the following morning.
