The Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism honored yesterday translator, Zdravka Mihailova, with the Literary Translation Award for the translation from Greek into Bulgarian of Yiannis Ritsos’ “Γραφή του Παντόπτη” (poetry anthology). The award was given at a ceremony held at The Onassis Cultural Center in Athens. The Literary Translation Award is the highest distinction in Greece for the contribution to the dissemination of Modern Greek literature abroad.
Zdravka Mihailova has translated more than 35 books from Greek into Bulgarian and others from Bulgarian into Greek. She is the first Bulgarian translator honored with this award. That is why she feels happiness and satisfaction and is proud of this distinction.
