A 31-year-old demonstrator who suffered head injuries during yesterday’s violent clashes during a 24-hour nationwide labor strike in Athens was reported to be in critical but stable condition on Thursday, after undergoing emergency surgery. In a related incident, a police officer who was also injured after being attacked by a group of approximately 50 people, was taken to Nikaia hospital on Thursday. Two colleagues accompanied the officer for a preliminary investigation into the serious injury of the demonstrator.
