"The Parthenon Sculptures in the British Museum" 3D Exhibit Opens, Thessaloniki

Citizens of Ampelokipi- Menemeni can see the statues of the Parthenon (Elgin), which are held in the British Museum, at an exhibition organized in the yard of the Municipal Library of Ampelokipi “Αριστοτέλειος”. The three-dimensional photography exhibition of journalist Kostas Krikelis, titled: “Τhe Parthenon Sculptures in the British Museum” includes three-dimensional printings of big dimensions, which one can see wearing special three-dimensional glasses. The result is unprecedented and extremely impressive, as the visitor can admire the sculptures embossed, with the real sense of depth and detail, as if he/she were in the British Museum.
The artist spoke exclusively to Greek Reporter about his works and the technique of three-dimensional photography. “Three-dimensional photography is the result of a simple technique, which can be applied by everybody, provided that he/she knows some basic things”. The exhibition includes 50 three-dimensional photographs and it is divided into three sections, depending on the sculptures, the pediments, the metopes and the friezes. The creator will be there every day, acting as a “tour guide”, but he will also share secrets of the three-dimensional shooting with visitors.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on the 20th of May, at 20:00. It will be held until the 27th of May.  It will be open daily from 18:00 to 21:00 and on weekends from 10:00 to 13:00 and 18:00 to 21:00. The exhibit is free.
