American-Hellenic Institute's Visit to Greece Concludes

The annual visit of the representation of the homogeneous organisation in Greece was completed with the 7th dinner.  It was organized by the American-Hellenic Institute (AHI) on Wednesday night, at the Grande Bretagne hotel.
In this year’s ceremony, the AHI chose to honour UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Marianna Vardinoyanni, who finally did not attend the ceremony due to the protests in Constitution Square, by the concentration of  indignants Greeks.  The Ambassador of the USA to Greece Daniel B., who -according to the ceremony’s programme- would present Marianna Vardinoyanni also did not attend.
During the ceremony, homogeneous Greeks referred to the multi-action and initiatives of the Institute on topics concerning the American relations in South-Eastern Europe. As Larigakis stated, the AHI which has been promoting topics of Greek interest with great consistency for years, does ”battle” in Washington, always siding with Greece, especially now that the country is going through a difficult financial period.
During their 7th annual visit in Greece, the representative members of AHI had consecutive meetings with Minister of Defense Evaggelos Venizelos, Deputy Ministers Dimitris Dolis and Spiros Kouvelis, the General Manager of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad, Petros Panagiotopoulos as well as the American Ambassador to Greece.
