The film crew of one of the largest private channel in Britain, “ITV”, was recently in Kavala. The crew was shooting a documentary series dedicated to Greece and presented by the popular British actress, Joanna Lumley. The documentary titled “Joanna Lumley’s Greek Odyssey”, includes scenes from Kavala which will be featured in episodes referring to northern Greece, as well as testimonies of Kavalas’s residents who came to the town, after the population’s exhange with the implementation of the Treaty of Lausanne.
The travel TV documentary with the highest viewing figures in Britain and a tribute to Kavala will be screened in January 2012.
