A Picture Paints a Thousand Words – Papandreou & Government Officials Ignore Greek Power Summit

The disturbing fact that the Prime Minister Mr. George Papandreou or any other government official did not attend the Greek Power Summit 2011, says it all! While some of the most distinguished global industrialists gathered to share ideas regarding investment opportunities in Greece and to generally talk with local businessmen and businesswomen about getting Greece back on its feet, members of the government, it seems, went into hiding. Perhaps it was the thought of George Koukis giving them some plain speaking about what the country has come to, or maybe the angry protesters outside. Whatever the excuse, it was a wrong move by the government. See below George Koukis’ angry remarks at the conference.

As the country still waits on tenterhooks to hear whether there will be any hope of a more promising future, the Prime Minister seems to have given up the ghost, abandoning his responsibilities, hoping, by calling for new elections sometime soon, he can pass the buck. Perhaps we should accept that there are some things that can’t be done quickly and have faith that there will be an effective solution to the Greek crisis in the foreseeable future. However, being defeated is often a temporary condition, giving up is what makes it permanent.
