More Ugly Scenes on the Streets of Athens in a Bid to Stop Crucial Vote

Police cordoned off the Greek Parliament on Wednesday, June 29, so as to keep a distance between angry protesters and government ministers. A hostile mob tried to invade and stop the crucial vote on Medium-Term fiscal program, resulting in more ugly scenes.
More and more protesters had been gathering since early Wednesday morning in a bid to hinder the vote.
At the same time, there was considerable pressure on EU officials who set the dilemma of bankruptcy on the table. Members of parliament had to face on  the one side, the anger of the Greek people in Syntagma Square and on the other side, EU officials, who were opposed to any other option.
The vote was scheduled for 2pm, Wednesday, followed at 6pm with a discussion regarding the applied law of the medium-term fiscal plan, in parliament.
More protests are planned for Thursday, June 30th.
