Allegations Investigated Regarding Overuse of Tear Gas

After the allegation of the President of the Pharmacy Association, about the way police were using tear gas during the demonstrations, the Public Prosecutor has decided to take action.
Other allegations regarding the overuse of chemicals during the two-day general strike will be looked into, so the Supreme Court of Appeal can make a decision about whether there will be a case for prosecution.
According to some witnesses, tear gas was used in Syntagma Square, inside the Metro and in some other places where protesters and innocent bystanders were present. The Deputy of Medicine Association has asked for a ban on using out of date tear gas, since 1979.
The Deputy has asked to examine whether the act of using the chemicals is necessary at all. He has also sent five samples of tear gas, which was used to force out the protesters, during the demonstrations to be examined.
District Attorney, I. Tentes asked for a memorandum including the harmful effect of tear gas and its effects on human life.
In the meantime, an urgent investigation is being carried out, to find out the truth about masked people, seemingly accompanied by police officers who were caught on camera causing damage and mayhem during the protests. The Ministry of Citizen Protection assumed that there was no connection between the police and the masked group. He stated that these people claimed to be members of the trade union and were asking for protection because they were being attacked.
