A pregnant woman gave birth during a general power blackout on Friday evening at the hospital on the island of Samos. The woman was in the process of giving birth, when the hospital was plunged into darkness and the generator also stopped working.
Friend’s and relatives waiting outside the delivery room, heard the woman’s obstetrician calling them to help provide some light in the room, thus they took the only action possible and took out their cell phones to help the doctor deliver the infant safely.
The incident was reported to the local prosecutor immediately afterwards.
