New Finnish Obstacle In Loan Package To Greece

There are new obstacles in the debate on the second bailout loan to Greece, even before it enters the final stages of preparation.
Diplomatic sources note that a Finnish parliamentary committee has resurrected the issue of additional collaterals for the bilateral loans to Greece.
According to the committee, whose decisions are binding for the new government, there should be additional collateral for every single euro of the new loan to Greece.
The proposal was made initially a month ago and had the support of Germany, but then it was withdrawn.
Brussels argue that the problem is not the participation of Finland in the law (as it is very small and could be easily covered from other countries) but the political climate created for the other Eurozone countries, as the adequacy of the agreement on bilateral loan would be disputed.
There is a growing debate on whether Greek government is able to implement the medium-term plan, which was the prerequisite for the release of the fifth aid installment.
Diplomatic circles note that the new loan package to Greece, in addition to any financial conditions, would require political consensus, which seems to be non-existing causing concern to the Eurozone.
They also insist that the consensus could be ensured after the adoption of the austerity measures without elections, which could create a climate of destabilization.
However, these discussions remain at an informal level, as European executives believe that official interventions in Greece should be avoided.
