Dr. Papadopoulou Awarded "Best Young Researcher in 2011"

Anastasia Papadopoulou’s latest research offers hope to patients being treated for rheumatoid arthritis. The Doctor of AUTH was honored with the title of the best young researcher at the 17th annual Conference of Cellular Treatment, held in Rotterdam-Netherlands in May.
Her research leads to new ways of treating the disease and contributes to the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis. According to her studies, a specific medicine given to patients at a preventive stage can lead to a cure because marrow cells have the chance and ability to react positively and deal with the disease.
The therapeutic action of marrow cells is for the majority of the researchers an interesting investigative area. Dr. Papadopoulous’s method opens a new window for the research community and gives patients the chance of recovery. At the moment, the research is still at trial level and the results come from animal testing.
Anastasia Papadopoulou, has an international reputation and recognition. However, she has already faced problems in the past regarding her research and proposals in Greece. as the “THALES” program, Head of Scientific Research once rejected her application.
