Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, Markos Kyprianos has resigned, giving the tragedy at the Cyprus naval base “Evangelos Florakis” as his reason.
According to information from the Cypriot channel RIK, the Minister sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Christofias where he asked to be relieved of his post for political reasons.
Mr. Kyprianos also announced his decision at a meeting by the Parliamentary Committee on Defense Affairs, concerning the fatal explosion at the National Guard Naval Base.
