No Strikes for the Greek Seamen's Federation

No Strikes are expected during July and August announced the Greek Seamen’s Federation. Seamen’s Unions decided not to  strike because of the touristic peak season. Cab drivers are striking at this time and if Greek seamen do so too, this could damage tourism a great deal. Ten Unions voted ”yes” and five ”no” regarding the national strike.

Seamen demand the medium Fiscal Program to alter because many issues concerning pensions and allowances are impinged. A new meeting is anticipated middle August and according to the announcement seamen will decide if the government has improved the current data or if they have to strike, so as to protect their rights.
