The Greek Women’s National Water Polo team won the Gold Medal playing against China in the FINA World Championship competition at the Natatorium in Shanghai on Friday. Greece beat China 9-8 at the world aquatic championships.
Neither team had competed in the championship game before.
The host country pulled to within one goal with 90 seconds left Friday, and controlled play for much of the final minute before losing the ball in front of theGreek goal, allowing the winners to play out the final 15 seconds.
