According to the mayor of Athens, Mr. Giorgos Kaminis, Syntagma Square will be returned to the citizens of Athens in the next few days. Although peaceful protesters have set up tents and have been living there permanently since demonstrations began, Mr. Kaminis claims that “these people living there are not protesters at all, but homeless people, drug users and dropouts.” Consequently, the mayor has stated that he will ask the campers to leave.
