Pharmacist unions have warned that, from September, they will stop selling medicines on credit to insurants of social security funds that owe them money, including the fund of employees of the Greek Public Power Corporation, the public sector, the Organization of Telecommunications, and lawyers.
The unions claim that they are in a difficult position as the insurants demand their medicines, while the state continues to be insolvent and owes them millions of euros. At the same time, companies consider Greece a financially unstable country and demand immediate payment for their products by the pharmacy stores.
Pharmacists claim that they even ask for partial payment of the debts, as their pharmacy stores will literally close due not to the strikes, but because they simply cannot survive.
