An international warrant for the arrest of Makis Psomiadis was sent by the Prosecutor’s Appeal to international authorities. The famous owner of the Kavala football team fled Greece in mid-July. Psomiadis is accused of involvement in illegal gambling and in the organisation of an extensive match-fixing network. According to sources, he could be currently in one of the European Union countries, possibly in Skopje.
The investigator received new data by UEFA of illegal gambling by 20 people, who are referred to by name. These names do not belong to football people, but the profits gained by the “players” amount to 30-50 thousand pounds, while there is also one man who won 500,000 pounds in one game.
