200,000 Euro Dept of Pensioner Deleted

A pensioner took advantage of the law Katselis regarding households that cannot deal with their debts and, following the instructions of the Consumers Union Protection, made an appeal to the court of Athens and managed to delete a 200,000 euro debt.
According to the decision of the court, the pensioner, who had been paying 2000 euros per month for his debts, will now have to pay 52,000 euros plus interest rates to banks within 14 years. He will now be paying just 310 euros per month for the following 14 years, beginning in 2014. Thousands of debt holders are expected to follow his example.
