Cypriot Soprano Awarded by Star Foundation

The Cypriot soprano Julietta Dimitriadou was awarded in the House of Lords in London, for her contribution and achievements in the field of classical music. According to an announcement, the prize was awarded by the STAR Foundation (Sociable, Trustworthy And Responsible), which among its other activities, honors artists who have offered their services to charity. Julietta Dimitriadou, born in Nicosia, began her musical studies at the Greek Conservatory of Nicosia. She continued her studies as a scholar of the Royal Schools of the United Kingdom and the Leventis Foundation, in the Royal Academy of Music in London and the University of London. In 2007, she was a finalist in the radio contest of Mediterranean Folk Song «Nizzissima, Voce del Mediterraneo».
Her career includes many concerts in England, France, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Cyprus and Egypt. She recently debuted at the Konzerthaus, Berlin and Gasteig, Munich. She also appeared in the Cadogan Hall, St John’s Smith Square and the Greek Centre of London, and the Athens Concert Hall, as well as in Cairo’s Opera House, the House of Prague and the Cathedral of Helsinki. She has collaborated with several state orchestras as the ones of Cyprus, Lublin in Poland and Cairo and has performed with various opera groups like the National Opera of Prague and the Lyric Opera of London.
Her immediate future plans include concerts in England, Germany, India and Canada as well as the role of Donna Elvira in the production of Don Giovanni by the Cyprus Opera Organization.
