German Chancellor Angela 
German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday defended her government’s part in international efforts to save Greece, this time from default against internal criticism from her party.
A Greek exit from the eurozone or a restructuring of its debt could lead to a domino effect, Merkel told a regional meeting of her Christian Democratic Union party in the northern city of Oldenburg.
‘A restructuring would vastly increase the pressure on other countries,’ Merkel said.
Every suggestion to help solve Greece’s problems should be examined with regard to its potential effects on other eurozone countries, the chancellor said.
The chancellor has faced criticism from within her party from members who fear having to foot the bill for other, more profligate eurozone countries.
